Housekeeping behoort tot het meest fysiek inspannende werk binnen de hospitality industrie. Werknemers die dit langere tijd doen krijgen vaak rug- en schouderpijn. Toch heeft in dit werkveld in de afgelopen 40 jaar weinig innovatie plaatsgevonden die gericht is op het fysiek ontlasten van medewerkers. Het PD-traject van Klaas Koerten richt zich op het verlichten van de fysieke inspanning die housekeepers ervaren door gebruik te maken van technologische ondersteuning. Bijvoorbeeld in de vorm van de inzet van robots.
